UPDATE ON THE A47 WORKS FROM GALLIFORD TRY:

When the election was announced government organisations entered a pre-election period which lasted until the general election was concluded. During this time there where restrictions on communications activity that National Highways and Galliford Try were able to do. This is why you haven’t heard from us for a while, and I just wanted to update you on what has been happening on the A47 Scheme. 

On the 29 May it was announced that the Supreme Court refused the application seeking permission to appeal the order made by the Court of Appeal on 22 February 2024 on the grounds that the application did not raise an arguable point of law.  

This meant that we were able to begin more of our preparatory construction activities so we can begin major construction in January 2025. 

We have continued with services diversions, archaeology and compound construction but with careful planning and environmental licences we are now able to begin some vegetation clearance for other enabling work.  

We are also able to start to recruit a larger workforce and begin ordering and storing materials.
